Why I am such a sucker for reading books
I am almost in tears when I think about how I could have invested...
On the 5th of January, I did a thing. I organized a FREE Virtual Reading Training and people registered, then I showed them 6 Simple Strategies that have helped me read consistently.
Looking back now, I am glad that happened because I got some insightful and encouraging feedback.
If you weren't at that training, I'd send you a compilation of my teachings in an eBook, for FREE, because I am all about your growth really.
I usually don't like to post things like, “Hey, I am reading this book or that book on my WhatsApp Status or on my Instagram feed (this thing stresses me out by the way).
But I actually read like one to three non-fiction books a month. I am currently reading about three to four books that I must finish this month because I am not joking with knowledge acquisition this year.
Maybe I will start sharing a lot more for social proof. Hehehe!
Why do I do what I do? Why am I so interested in running free trainings and encouraging people to just read?
Here’s why: reading fiction books was my thing while growing up; I loved reading fiction books as a teenager.
But I wish that I had paid attention to non-fiction books too.
Really, I am almost in tears when I think about how I could have invested my time reading both fiction and non-fiction books while in Secondary School, it would have made a lot of difference! A whole lot of difference!
Anyways, it's all in the past but that pain is why I help young people become consistent readers, especially with reading non-fiction books.
This is why I have also created a simple template that can help you Crush Your Reading Goals consistently.
This template has helped members of my reading tribe read consistently and even cultivate great reading habits.
